Women Empowerment refers to the process of enabling women to gain equal rights, opportunities, and control over their lives so they can participate fully in social, economic, and political activities. It focuses on building confidence, independence, and decision-making ability among women, ensuring they can live with dignity and respect.

From an NGO perspective, women empowerment is a key area of social development, especially in communities where women face discrimination, limited access to education, and economic dependence. NGOs work to create awareness about gender equality and women’s rights, encouraging equal participation in all aspects of life.

They promote education for girls and women, provide skill development and vocational training, and support income-generating activities to enhance financial independence. Self-help groups and entrepreneurship programs are often encouraged to strengthen women’s economic position.
