Program Overview
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. It plays a vital role in improving the quality of life and overall development of individuals and communities.
From an NGO perspective, health is a key area of focus, especially for underserved and economically weaker sections of society who often lack access to proper healthcare services. NGOs work to promote awareness about hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and preventive healthcare to reduce the risk of diseases. They organize health camps, free medical check-ups, vaccination drives, and awareness programs in rural and urban communities.
Special attention is given to maternal and child health, ensuring safe pregnancy, proper nutrition, and immunization. NGOs also address critical issues such as anemia, malnutrition, infectious diseases, and mental health, providing guidance, counseling, and referrals when needed.
